Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland. – Jeremiah 10.25
Jeremiah’s plea to God, for those that would not acknowledge Him, was for God to pour out His wrath upon them. God’s wrath is the last place anyone will ever want to be. If His wrath is poured out due to the lack of acknowledgement, then it is imperative for us to acknowledge Him.
What does it look like to acknowledge God?
Acknowledging Him includes giving Him the credit for all things. We may work hard at what we do and have gained much from our efforts. Even so, it is God that has given us the abilities to achieve and succeed.
All our possessions belong to Him. We may think that we have obtained and gained all we have through our own efforts. However, it is God that has blessed us with what we have received. Without Him our possessions are meaningless.
It is God that brought us to where we are. We may believe that we have made it to our stage in life on our own. Again, it is imperative that we give God the credit, give God the glory. For all we have, and all we have become is only because of Him.
