The prophet Jeremiah writes, “I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps”? The reality is our lives are not our own. We belong to God, and He will direct our steps if we will allow Him. The question is, do we trust Him to lead us?
If we belong to God, then what does it mean for us?
Since we belong to God, we are not alone in this world. We are now part of a greater, extended family, with brothers and sisters all around the world.
God is our Father, Jesus is our brother, and we are filled with the Spirit of God who will lead us into all truth.
In what ways has God directed our steps?
Think about how God has directed us to where we are today. From the careers we have chosen to the towns we live in has been God ordained.
Our friendships we have formed and the churches of which we have been a part are all part of His plan.
Everything in our lives comes from the fact that we belong to God and He cares for us. Do we believe this?
