Once God reveals the sin in us, then He can finish the work of removing it completely. We cannot do this by ourselves. Only God can completely remove sin from us. Only by His power can we find freedom.
In Joshua 10, the Amorites were defeated and their kings were captured. Now Joshua and the Israelites were going to completely remove the threat of these people. Joshua had some of his men come and place their feet on the necks of the kings. In this act, he was able to give encouragement to the people of Israel. He was saying through this action to not be afraid or discouraged. Instead, be strong and courageous.

We must realize that we can do nothing on our own accord. It is only by the power and presence of Jesus that we can overcome any sin, any obstacle, that comes before us. He can remove the sin, remove the obstacle. Then we can take part in the work because we are no longer limited by the way of the world. We are now part of the kingdom of God. As such, we can receive from His bounty the blessings and help we so desperately need.
If God is for us, who can be against us? It is by the power of God that sin can be completely eradicated from our lives. He will reveal the sin. By His strength and courage, we can fight against the sin. Through His wisdom, He can reveal the root of sin. And finally, by the power of God, He can completely deal with our sin once and for all.
Like the Israelite men with their feet on the necks of the kings, we can place our feet on the necks of our sins and confidently say,
“We are not afraid; We are not discouraged. We are strong and courageous. This is what the Lord is going to do to all our enemies, all our sins, that we will fight against!”

Has God been working on us, revealing the sins in our lives?
What are we doing to rout out, to remove the sin from us?
How is God leading us to find the root of the sin?
Are we experiencing the power of God in the complete removal of the sin so that it no longer has a hold on us?
By the power of God, through Jesus Christ, are we overcoming the attacks, sins, and discouragements that come our way?
Are we placing our faith and trust in the One who can complete the task?
It is only through Jesus Christ that we can overcome and conquer sin. It is only through Christ that we can find the freedom to be completely focused on Him today and forevermore.
Just a Thought…
