In Joshua 10, we read about Joshua and the Israelite army were getting ready to go into battle on Gibeon’s behalf. As they prepared to attack, God spoke confidence into Joshua by saying, “Do not be afraid. I have given them into your hand.”
Because of this word from God, the Israelite army gained confidence. Because of this confidence, the they were able to win the battle at Gibeon. They then pursued those that fled the battle and overcome them.
We, too, can find confidence from the Word of God to move forward in our faith. As we open and read the Bible, He can speak to us through His written Word. As we listen to messages and read about the things of God, He will be able to speak into us. When He speaks into us, He is helping us to overcome the obstacles we face.
God, His angels, and His Son, when appearing or speaking to humans, would oftentimes say, “Be not afraid.” With God, there is no fear, and He continues to say to us today, “Be not afraid.”
Are we in need of confidence to overcome the sins, thoughts, doubts, and frustrations that creep into our lives? Look to the Word of God and listen to the words He is speaking to us.
Just a Thought…
